SPGrow

Owning Your Professional Role and Growth!

In complex project environments, social performance practitioners are expected to navigate competing stakeholder demands, cross-disciplinary challenges, and challenging decisions that directly affect people and communities. SPGrow is CIG’s dedicated coaching and professional development suite, designed to empower practitioners to own their professional role and growth.

SPGrow360

Understanding individual and team competencies

SPGrow360 is a competency assessment supported by coaching, designed to help professionals gain deeper insights into their skills and enhance their effectiveness in their role. SPGrow360 combines three integrated components:

  • Competency Assessment – Science-based self- or 360-assessment survey helps individuals and teams understand how their capabilities align with the demands of their role and work context.
  • One-on-One Coaching – Personalized coaching sessions provide space to reflect on assessment results, identify performance enablers or blockers, and explore strategies to support individual goals, values, and leadership growth.
  • Targeted Training – Where specific development needs are identified, participants can access focused training modules to strengthen core competencies – from decision-making and influence to stakeholder engagement and adaptive management.

Created in 2021, SPGrow360 design and development process are detailed in this peer-reviewed journal article. To learn more, download CIG’s SPGrow360 Brochure for full details.

SPCircles

A space to reflect, grow, and lead with clarity

SPCircles is a small-group coaching program that creates space for reflection, connection, and fresh perspective. It offers a confidential, structured forum where professionals can explore challenges, test assumptions, and learn alongside peers who understand the pressures of this work. SPCircles is available in two formats:

  • For individuals – Professionals join a circle with peers from different organizations.
  • For intact teams – A team or group of colleagues join together to create a circle of professionals who work with each other.

Each circle includes a small number of participants and runs over four weekly sessions, guided by a trained coach. SPCircles uses a group-coaching methodology that encourages open sharing, thoughtful inquiry, and deep listening. This helps participants pause, make sense of their experiences, and return to their work with renewed clarity and direction.

SPCircles is not about traditional problem-solving. It’s about holding space for reflection, allowing new ways of thinking and leading to emerge, something many professionals rarely get the chance to do in high-pressure, fast-paced environments. SPTeams

Enabling confident and high performing teams

SPTeams is a team-based intensive competency development program that helps social performance teams strengthen collaboration, clarify roles, and build shared confidence in how they work together. SPTeams integrates tailored training, team coaching, and advisory support to improve performance across technical, interpersonal, and organizational dimensions.

Designed for teams working in high-pressure, dynamic environments, such as stakeholder engagement, resettlement, social investment, or ESG delivery, SPTeams supports both newly formed and established teams navigating change, alignment issues, or the need to shift from reactive to more strategic ways of working.

The methodology follows an experiential learning cycle across five key stages:

  • Training tailored to the team needs;
  • Experiencing the transference of the new learning to practice;
  • Reflecting on the transference experience with the new learning through team coaching;
  • Conceptualizing new practices drawn for the previous septs with advisory support; and
  • Applying these new practices to respond to the team needs.

This people-centered approach creates space for shared insight, deeper connection, and measurable growth, grounded in the real challenges teams face in their day-to-day work. To learn more, download CIG’s SPTeams Brochure for more details.
